Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said that President GMA declared a national day of celebration for People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao after defeating Ricky hatton yesterday.Eventhough the President is not around for a series of state visit.She greeted Pacquiao for it’s victory.People’s Champ will be given a state lunch as soon as he arrives from U.S.

People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao was voted as Fighter of the Year of the Boxing Writers Association of America after he defeated Oscar de la Hoya.The award will be presented to him in June 12 at New York.

This was after Solar Sports’s Wilson Tieng talked to Manny Pacquiao and cleared his contract regarding the airing of Pacquiao – Hatton match. It was also reported that GMA-7 will hold again the said event. Manny also extend his apologies for all the troubles he made regarding that issue.

GMA network released a statement regarding the transfer of rights to broadcast the fight of Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton from Solar Sports to ABS-CBN.The network was dissapointed because of his decision . There were also rumors that Pacquiao was offered by ABS-CBN a full media support for his candidacy in the 20010 election as Congressman.
