Naval chief for Southwestern Philippines Rear Admiral Alex Palma confirmed the release of Umar Jaleel,a Sri lkankan National and a member of Brussels-based Nonviolent Peaceforce after being kidnapped for almost three months by an armed group connected to Abu Sayyaf Bandits. He was freed last Wednesday in Tipo Tipo, Basilan. His release came two weeks after a group of men freed three teachers they have abducted last January in Zamboanga City.

12 Pinoy Seamen was released at Africa last Saturday after being hijacked last January 29.DFA are now arranging things to sent them back in the Philippines.However,92 Pinoy Seaman were still in captivity.

After 83 days in captivity, 3 Montalban Police were freed by their abductors yesterday at the mountains of Montalban at around 12:30 p.m.The 3 were seized by the New People’s Army (NPA) under Antazo Aramil Command last January 3, 2009 and made them Prisoners of War.
