Akon’s July 4 concert at the Araneta Coliseum has been rescheduled again because of some unforeseen events. Akon also appeared via video message in Showbiz News Ngayon last night to extend his sincere apologies for the delay of the said event. He also assured the public that their tickets would still be honored this October 23, the scheduled date of the concert and that the postponement could not be helped. Triumph International workers will lose their jobs after its announcement for closure last Saturday because of the global recession and economic crisis in the country. According to Secretary Marianito Roque of DOLE, Triumph has filed a formal notice to close shop and retrench workers this August. Over 1,600 workers will be left jobless after the closure. According to him,they already received the notice from Triumph but still they will be having a meeting to determine if all of its total workforce will be retrenched or not. Meanwhile, Triumph Workers expressed their protest by hanging their bras and panties regarding the closure of the plants. Meanwhile, the company assured retrenched employees that they would fulfill all obligations, including giving a full wage payment for the period leading up to Aug. 28 and a separation pay for each of the workers.
For those who will be having problems regarding their dietary needs, here’s a healthy meat for you, very affordable yet healthy and easy to prepare. The tofu ( “Tokwa” in Filipino term ) was considered as a meat extender for recipes that requires meat like ground pork or any poultry. It is also rich in proteins because the curd that composes the tofu came from soya beans. Here’s one of the Tofu Recipe that i hope you will surely love to prepare.
Tofu Salad
* 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
* 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon sesame oil
* 1/2 (16 ounce) package extra-firm tofu, drained and diced
* 1 cup snow peas, trimmed
* 2 small carrots, grated
* 1 cup finely shredded red cabbage
* 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
How to Prepare:
1. In a large bowl, mix the chili sauce, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Place tofu in the mixture, and marinate 1 hour in the refrigerator.
2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Immerse the snow peas in the boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes, then immerse in a a bowl of cold water. Drain, and set aside.
3. Toss the peas, carrots, cabbage, and peanuts with the tofu and marinade to serve.
Note: You can also find an alternative for other ingredients that is not available in your areas. For example, for the red cabbage you can replace it with a local cabbage instead. But make sure it will follow the right diet that you required. Eat well, Stay Healthy!

Actor Diether Ocampo collapsed and suffered seizures while having their rehearsals in preparation for their Star Magic U.S. Concert Tour. According to Mr. Johnny Manahan, Star Magic Head, Diether was rushed to the hospital and was given a proper medication and now in a stable condition and is now out of danger. Inspite of that, the Concert was very successful as it was watched by more than 9,000 of our kababayans abroad. They also gave a last minute tribute for the late King of Pop Michael Jackson that was included in the concert.
